Beauty Notes ~ 1st Edition
Happiness for me is creating art focused around my North Star of Beauty.
for the love of rouge
The part of this ritual I love most, is the application of her rouge ~ or blush as we now call it. I remember loving this part so much as I could see the appearance of happiness. It was palpable, I could feel the lift in her mood, the rise of colour in her cheeks (some natural some applied) and a skip in her step.
3 things for 12.24
Drape a soft pashmina over your shoulders, or anything soft, sip your brew and enjoy the slowing down that tea brings.
let life sing to you
We don’t know how much time we have, how many sleeps away our departure is, nothing is guaranteed. So live it. Fully. Want to paint, pick up a paint brush. Want to write a book, start with a few words. Want to find a great job, write up a brilliant resume.
power tools
Ever been to a workshop, yoga class, meditation class, a modern healing modality? Often they ask you to visualise. And while that may seem simple to some, after teaching yoga for 12 years I can tell you that not everyone is confident of their ability to do this. Not everyone lying on the yoga mat beside you in Savasana, can simply visualise from verbal prompts.
right side up
I’m conscious of so many conversations about scans, biopsies, scares, urologists, cancer grades, check ups and the like. And I believe its right to pay attention to all this info, but also I’m mindful not to linger there. I can’t be helpful or be supportive, if I’m drowning in it too. So I’m spending a part of each day filling the tank, so I can keep my foot on the pedal, or keep the boat right side up headed to true north.
your practices
From Yogic practices to my own made up practice, dont you agree that having some sort of part of the day for YOU, makes a world of difference and makes a difference to your world 🌏
Morning set up
There is something about a morning set up or flow that reorganises my soul.
My situ is not complicated.
It’s not a certain set of sequences (well, yes tea first!).
It doesn’t belong to any organisation or instution.
It’s mine.
And its often messy and it changes with the seasons.
But a morning set of things is the most devotional offering I can give myself.
rhythms / rituals
Lately, a new rhythm is what I need as I have a work schedule I need to get organised for.
Also I need to be on the bus by 7.40am. Yep, ungodly really. Anyho.
After a few weeks of not really thinking about my morning, a few of my most fun morning rituals got dropped. I wasn’t even aware, until I started to feel a bit flat. A big meh.
