Hi, its me Sara,
If I was asked what words I find most inspiring, hand over heart I’d quote:
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life ~ Mary Oliver
Mary Oliver and John O’Donohue have moved my life in many ways, their words a balm for my heart. Both poets, mystics and lovers of life.
I’m a lover of photography, books and enthusiastic about the beauty of living. Living a life infused with beauty and purpose is the lens I view life. A life where my camera is at hand, where words are my anchors and candles are a non-negotiable.
Born in New Zealand moving here as a child, my family home was infused with the scent of oil paints, easels, canvases and turpentine. My mum was an artist at her core and a sales lady by necessity, she painted the most beautiful landscapes, portraits of Indian Sidhi’s all the while smelling of perfume & dressed to the 9’s. Her happy place, Art on King, I remember visiting this shop with her and feeling her happiness, wishing we could bring our PJ’s and move in.
My own art story began with a camera. Feeling a joy that I didn’t find elsewhere,I went on to study photography at KVB College of Visual Communication (long & funny story that one). I love creating art; from my year 10 photography assignment, to the world of marketing at Revlon and Clarins, then later teaching yoga and workshops, creating Devotions, a set of cards for yoga students, up to now releasing my first digital book, Future Self; crafting a splendid new tale.
I have always loved creating.
Art leads to beauty.
Beauty to happiness.
And that’s what I want to share with you,
the beauty of living a life that feels artful.
That gives you permission to create a life that feels beautiful and true.
That’s my wish.
