power tools
Creating and manifesting are key tools to living a life that feels yours that’s yours for the making. But how do we create that?
We identify our Power Tools, and they aren’t what you might think!
Ever been to a workshop, yoga class, meditation class, any kind of modern healing modality operation? Often they ask you to visualise. And while that may seem simple to some, after teaching yoga for 12 years I can tell you that not everyone is confident of their ability to do this. Not everyone lying on the yoga mat beside you in Savasana, can simply visualise from verbal prompts.
This was a shock to me because for most of my life I’ve used the power of visualising what I want to help me achieve my goals and desires. Its not so straightforwad for a lot of folks.
So if this is you, I ask you… what are your power tools?
How do you create?
Cast your eyes around your home:
are you a note taker?
are you creating lists in your head? notes on your phone?
do you love words? Are you a word person? Get some word soup happening.
are you googling that next project, maybe search engines are your thing?
are you on the You Tubes? 😉
‘I’m not creative’ is a cry often heard. But what about the cries of not creating what it is you want? Missed dreams, lost hoops, goals languishing is ones head/notebook/heart.
Here are the ways I bring into creation what I’m dreaming, planning, wishing for. They are my power tools and I hope by sharing them it might prompt you to use mine or create your own:
Lists - create a love list, intermingling values, things I love that are current, things I’d like to do/see/buy in the future. Usually about 10 points. Usually accompanied by a photograph that feels inspiring. Key: I look at this each morning. This works for me & has done since my early 20’s.
Word Soup - list all the words that appeal to you, that pull your interest, words you love, words you feel moved by, words from quotes you love, words from recipes, just collect all the words. Write it all down and then when your fresh, take a look at it and feel the mood appear.
Pinterest - best thing on the internet! If you haven’t, go check it out. It can give you the ‘on ramp’ that you just might need.
Books, Magazines - I read poetry, inspiration, biographies. Things that interest me about women leading lives that they are choosing.
The breakdown - got a goal, want to achieve it. Begin to break it down into small pieces. Just start, thats the key. I want to do 1 pull up by the end of 2024, so each week I want to get into strength training, I WANT that amount of upper body strength so I can lift my grandkids (when they arrive!), I want to keep lifting my bike up into the rack at home, I want to lift suitcases when I travel.
