When nothing feels right
What do we do, when nothing feels ‘right’? Is it a sign, are in we out of alignment, are we dealing with another Venus Retrograde? Is it “x season” fill in the x?
Lately I feel like I’m in between a lot of things. Youngest child finishing school, oldest child finishing Uni, new job in Elder Care, old job of teaching Yoga still calling me, the world as it is today. So while it feels trite and light given the world, well, its okay. We do get to examine our lives and check if we are on point, are we still enjoying our old loves, are we called to different jobs, or no jobs?
What to do when the old things dont feel like the right things anymore?
I go to what works.
My French Breakfast Tea in the mornings, it still makes me happy. The scent of the tea as it steeps, the feel of my tea cup my good friend gave me (thank you T), the way it tastes, all still lights me up.
Incense or oil in the diffuser, this still works. The brand I’m loving for oils right now is Twenty 8 and in particular I use their blend called ‘Inspire Me’ with ingredients of Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Basil, Thyme and Jasmine essential oils.
Journalling: super useful when you feel funky. The brain dump works great, or a mind map with YOU in the middle. Just get it all out of your head and onto paper, your mind will thank you.
Move: walk, run, bike ride, whatever movement you can do or want to do, go do it. Get that stagnant feeling out during movement.
Eat good food: this week I took myself out to lunch. I had a truly delicious meal of scallops and asparagus with a sweet glass of Pinot Noir. It was just me and my books and it was divine. I felt so wonderful afterwards, giving myself permission to read and daydream and have someone bring me delicious food.
Go to your normals, your dependables, and when one or two dont work, keep going until one does. Because one will, and you will find yourself settling back into your heart. And your breathing will settle and you will know once again what feels right.
