To the art
Want a possible and simple way to fill up your day with beauty?
One that doesnt cost any money.
A place where your’e always welcome.
Good news!
Pack your bag, you are off to an Art Gallery or a Studio. Look up local galleries or studio’s in your area, there’s sure to be some kind of exhibition. Usually its free or a small donation, not too much to ask hey.
Before you go ponder this, depending on where you end up you might stand before some of the most glorious works of art, the most divine paintings, heavenly sculptures, awesome photos. I highly recommend you wear something glorious and beautiful. Make sure to match the art with an offering of appreciation. No tracksuits phlease. You will feel beautiful, relaxed and in sync.

Perhaps ponder this from Lorin Roche, who wrote The Radiance Sutras (a translation of the Vijnana Bhairava Trantra):
Spending time and walking through a gallery encourages contemplation, reflection, appreciation and time. Its almost a celebrational kind of meditation.
As vast as the offering of art is, consider this…. you have your own unique appreciation of beauty.
Notice what works of art attract you to them, ask yourself ‘why’? Does it evoke a happy memory? Do the colours delight you and make you happy? Did you always want to paint but a teacher/parent told you it didnt pay?
After your trip and your dive inward, take a trip to the Art Shop if they have one. Look for postcards, a little piece of art to take home to stoke the fire.
Create a little Altar to your own devotion to art. Place your postcard, or print a photo. Pair this with a sweet candle or a keepsake. Or lately my favourite, stick it to your fridge.
Creativity and art are available to us all. Notice how it feels to think about this?
